Psych Star Shares His Thoughts About His Character
Posted by: adminWe know him as Detective Carlton Lassiter on Psych. Although, many people find this character to be edgy and disgruntled, I am amused by Detective Carlton. So when I came across an interview of Timothy Omundson, the face of the character, I could not resist myself from going through the same. I know that you would definitely like to know more about what the actor thinks about the show and his character. So, here are some extracts of the interview.
According to Timothy, he did not have to practice much for portraying this very uptight and uncool character, as he is not incredibly cool in his real life as well. But the actor does not look at it that way, as he believes in Rainn Wilson’s words “there is great comedy to be had in great seriousness.” So Timothy says that he is not uncool, only a bit more serious.
Timothy feels that his character in Psych has evolved over the run of three seasons of the series. According to Timothy, he decided to play the character because, he had portrayed enough characters where he was seen as a sweet, social worker-esque, spiritual guy and he just wanted to break that image and play a little more of a bad ass. And even though the character of Lassiter was not that of a bad ass, but it was quite different from what he had been doing till then.
Timothy also feels that his job on Psych is the most difficult, because he has to always keep a straight face, while the other characters get a chance to laugh and joke around. He also feels that the fact that he finds the characters of his co-stars quite funny while his character has feelings totally in opposition to that, and this makes his job even more difficult.
Timothy also felt that despite the fact that Psych had completed three successful seasons, the show was still very close to its original concept. It has managed to retain its basic flavor of smart, funny banter which has made the audiences shower their love on each of its characters.
We agree with you Mr. Timothy and that is why we are eagerly waiting for the show to return.

Great comedy-writing characters continue on USA! What a wonderful first episode! I am hooked. Shawn Spencer is my new hero-sleuth! The first episode managed to mix the introduction of all the characters into a deftly woven plot full of fun.

Nice Post about characters of the show!!!! I like this show just because of its characters and saw its every episode. I missed some of its starting episodes but from this edogo site I downloaded every episode. This site also offers free stuff…
