‘Psych’ Season 1 was premiered on July 7, 2006 and season’s opening episode was entitled ‘Pilot’. 15 episodes were aired during the first season of series and various guest characters were also introduced as per the requirement of the story-line. Season opener introduces us with Shawn Spencer, a young crime consultant as well as a fake psychic, who’s a very brilliant guy and has very high observational skills. In the beginning of the season, he convinces the police that he’s a psychic and it proves to be the commencement of his journey to unravel the mysteries. We see that the Santa Barbara California Police Department hires Shawn to consult on a kidnapping case and this relationship lasts very long. In the second episode of season, Juliet O’Hara is introduced to audience.
In Season’s 4th episode ‘Woman Seeking Dead Husband- Smokers Okay, No Pets’, Shawn and Gus land their first non-SBPD case when a woman asks them to locate the money her former husband stole from a bank. Next, we see that Shawn investigates a case which is a murder-case in his views, but police labels it as a suicide. Shawn discovers that victim’s cat may help him to find out the truth and he makes a psychic connection with the cat to continue the investigation. Later this season, Shawn helps a private client who claims that a ghost is trying to kill him. In the episode named ‘From the Earth to the Starbucks‘, we see Carlton Lassiter suffers from lack of self-confidence and Shawn tries to boost-up his confidence by helping him to solve a mystery. We also see that a naked man claims that he was abducted by aliens and Shawn and Gus investigate the case. Season comes to an end on March 02, 2007 and the season finale was entitled ‘Scary Sherry: Bianca’s Toast’. In this episode, Juliet appoints Shawn and Gus to investigate some suspicious events that may have a connection to a 20 year old urban legend. Lassiter is reassigned to work with the abrasive Detective Goochberg. Season’s finale episode was directed by the horror legend John Landis.
Season’s Top Ranked Episode - ‘9 Lives’
This is the most liked episode of the season. Here, we see that a man dies and police believes that it’s a suicide case. But Shawn is sure that it’s a murder. He investigates the case and the only witness is victim’s cat. So, Shawn communicates with the cat psychically, to find out the truth.
